Description:
Septodont Lignospan Special is a solution for injection specifically formulated for local or loco-regional anesthesia in dental surgery. Each box contains 50 cartridges, with each cartridge containing 1.8 ml of the solution. The active ingredients in Lignospan Special are Lidocaine Hydrochloride and Adrenaline Tartrate. Lignospan Special provides 38.4120 mg of Lidocaine Hydrochloride per cartridge, which is equivalent to 36.0000 mg of Anhydrous Lidocaine Hydrochloride. Additionally, each cartridge contains 0.0410 mg of Adrenaline Tartrate, corresponding to 0.0225 mg of Adrenaline. The solution also includes excipients such as sodium chloride, potassium metabisulphite, sodium edetate, sodium hydroxide solution 35% (m/m), and water for injection.
It is primarily used to achieve local or loco-regional anesthesia during dental surgeries. However, there are certain situations in which this product should not be used the shelf-life of Lignospan Special is limited, and it should be stored below 25°C, protected from light, and should not be frozen. Proper disposal of unused or expired cartridges is essential.

Direction to Use:
Children (over 4 years of age):
- The quantity of solution to be injected should be determined based on the child's age, weight, and type of operation.
- The average dose in children is 20 mg to 30 mg of Lidocaine Hydrochloride per session.
- The maximal dose in mg of Lidocaine Hydrochloride that can be administered is calculated as follows: child's weight (in kilograms) x 1.33.
- Do not exceed the equivalent of 2.2 mg of Lidocaine Hydrochloride per kilogram of body weight.
Elderly patients:
- The dose used in adults should be reduced by half for elderly patients.
Method and Route of Administration:
- Lignospan Special is for local or regional sub-mucous intraoral injection.
- Ensure that there is no insertion into a blood vessel by performing repeated aspiration tests, especially for regional (block) anesthesia.
- The rate of injection should not exceed 1 ml of solution per minute.

Instructions for Use/Handling:
- Prior to use, disinfect the diaphragm of the cartridge by carefully swabbing it with either 70% ethyl alcohol or pure 90% isopropyl alcohol for pharmaceutical use.
- Do not dip the cartridges into any solution.
- Do not mix the solution for injection with any other product in the same syringe.
- Open cartridges of the anesthetic solution should not be reused.
Duration of Treatment:
- Lignospan Special is for single-use only. Discard any unused solution.
